'STUDENT LEADERSHIP IN LEARNING: making pupil/student ‘voice’ and consultation really count'

(five minute walk from Euston, St Pancras and Kings Cross Stations)

AIMS: to support school leaders, teachers and colleagues in all key stages (in maintained and independent schools) who wish to:

• enhance achievement by encouraging pupils/students to take more responsibility for their learning;
• teach communication, presentation, team working and other skills to increase their pupils'/students' leadership capacity;
• develop strategies for raising self-confidence/esteem and well-being amongst young people;
• extend and/or sustain pupil 'voice', student consultation, 'Pupils as Researchers' and peer mentoring/coaching; and
• participate in high quality professional learning drawing on 'expert' input and examples of good practice.

FOR: school leaders, teachers and colleagues from all Key Stages; plus governors and all interested in student leadership, pupil ‘voice’, pupil/student consultation, and ‘Pupils as Researchers’.  Attendance with a ‘learning partner’ encouraged.

COST: £40 all applicants (£25 each if two applicants from the same workplace) FREE for NQTs and Final Yr/PGCE.  Includes VAT, lunch and refreshments.

This one day Professional Development Conference is run by the NUT CPD Programme in Partnership with the Highest Common Denominator (HCD) Trust and Leadership for Learning, Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge.
