'Planning for Active Participation: the Agenda for Development' How did this conference and workshop come about? A new movement is being established of people who want to work together to promote participatory approaches in education. This includes students, teachers, local authorities, governors, parents, researchers and national organisations. The aim is to connect together all the energy and good practice so that it can have greater impact. The University of Cambridge has a reputation for cutting edge work in this area, engaging directly with schools with a commitment to develop active participation. This event aims to bring this energy together. o A climate and ethos in schools where the views and ideas of all stakeholders are valued, including school students, staff and parents.
