FLARE This site is dedicated to promoting enquiry and research in the Essex education community. FLARE recognise the value of individuals and schools engaging in research activities because it makes a significant contribution to improved learning and teaching and to school improvement. Participation Works Participation Works is a consortium of six leading children and young people's organisations that provides expert advice to anyone wanting to give a voice to children and young people. It is made up of: the British Youth Council, Children’s Rights Alliance for England, National Children’s Bureau, National Council for Voluntary Youth Services, the National Youth Agency and Save the Children - England. The Children's Research Centre The Children's Research Centre is all about children by children. Its primary objective is to empower children and young people as active researchers. Researching Children The title 'Researching Children' is deliberately ambiguous. There is a lot of research done by adults 'on', 'about', and even 'for' children, but very little research in which children play an active and meaningful role. 'Researching Children' stands for research in which children actively participate with adults in ways that ensure that their view of the world is fully expressed and presented seriously.
